Advise to those who will enter high school in the fall

Published by cherrylemonade at 9:23 pm under health and wellness Edit This

I recently came across the song EVERYBODY’S FREE TO WEAR SUNSCREEN and it reminds me of how, when graduating high school, my senior class came up with our own version (sans the music). It’s four years old but it’s actually really good advice.

After four years of roaming theses halls, the Class of 2004 is about to say good buy. The faculty and staff have taught us many things, from Ms. A explaining how if we wanted a job that would never get boring to become an English teacher to Mr. M repeatedly telling us that we were best students around. So because we’ve learned so much and because we’ve been through the high school experience (and who knows how many half days), the senior class has decided to pass on our wisdom to help the future classes truly make the most of their time here.

Ø  Mourn the losses because they’re many but celebrate the victories because they’re few.

Ø  Stay close with your friend because they’ll be there when you need them

Ø  Listen to all your teachers

Ø  Don’t listen to people who tell you “you can’t”

Ø  Form good work habits now because they’ll stay with you long after you leave High School.

Ø  Take your work seriously and pay attention

Ø  Love yourself

Ø  Always keep your head up high

Ø  Reach for your goals and never stop dreaming

Ø  Work to your fullest potential because then nothing will stand in your way.

Ø  Don’t think that senior year is easy because it’s not.

Ø  Try to challenge yourself with the courses you take.

Ø  Schoolwork should come first. Boys/Girls, friends, and sports come after.

Ø  Try your best and stick in there; it seems long but it goes by so fast.

Ø  Enjoy yourself and try to get along with everyone.

Ø  Do all assignments, it’ll pay off in the end.

Ø  Always remember everything you learn, it lasts a lifetime.

Ø  Work hard but always leave time to be crazy.

Ø  Take SAT classes, send applications early, and pick the right college.

Ø  Think ahead, study hard, and through it all- remember to have fun.

Ø  Be well prepared.

Ø  Enjoy it while you can because these are the best years of your life.

Ø  Live it up.

Ø  The worse thing to do is procrastinate.

Ø  Join as many clubs as you can.

Ø  Never give up

Ø  Stay focused

Ø  Cherish your time because the memories will stay with you forever.

Ø  And lastly, you’re only lost if you’re alone. If you’re surrounded by people who love you, you’ll always find your way.
