Saturday parties part 2
So three hours after the birthday party ended, I had showered, shaved, washed and styled my hair, squeezed into spanx to make me look awesome in a red velvet mini-dress, splattered on my makeup, and was out the door and on my way to my cousin’s engagement party.
When I arrived to the venue, the path from the parking lot to the party room was lined with crystal-looking plastic ice cubes. It looked classically beautiful as did the party room, which was decorated in hues of red. On the path, needless to say according to Murphy’s law, a brisk wind hit me and knocked out my hair. So after getting in and quickly kissing everyone hello, I ran into the ladies’ room and redid my hair. Finally I was ready to party.
It was a wonderful time with my family and I’m glad I went. I do wish however, that I had eaten before because at the last minute my beautiful but cooking-challenged cousin decided that she would not get the event catered, but rather cook everything herself. I was starving since I ate very little all day so that I wouldn’t completely ruin my diet with all of the food I’d eat there. I scarcely survived for 5 ½ hours on bottled water and several tomato slices.
The best part of the night would have been when the future bride’s younger sister, having had too much to drink, told a nonsensical story and then broke a Champaign glass doing “wooh cheers!”
I say that would have been the best part because on any other day that would have been tops but I happened to be talking to my cousin’s aunt about my struggles finding a job and she told me that she was going to give my information to her cousin who works for Anderson Cooper!!
So that moment took the cake and made everything I went through that day worth it. So everyone keep their fingers crossed and if I get the job I can have backstage stuff from a job with the Coop. (And I promise I will include any and all gossip!)
