A little less proud of America

Published by cherrylemonade at 10:00 pm under political Edit This

I was lucky enough to be born straight. I know that sounds controversial so let me explain. I would not have a problem with myself f I was gay. And, again by the good hand of faith, I am lucky enough that I have a family who loves unconditionally so they wouldn’t have a problem either.

However, I consider myself lucky that I will never have a court of imbeciles, or the American voters, tell me that my marriage isn’t legal or that my love for another person is less valid that someone else’s.  However, gay Americans were not born lucky in that sense.

If you are straight and believe that your superior to people because of how they were born, congratulations on being ignorant, but if you are one of the people who believed that America means liberty and justice for all then stand up and say it.

Great post. As someone with many gay friends, I’m glad things are better here in Canada, although there is still a long way to go.
